Twenty yearsago this willow green example of jaguar's big sporting cat was sent to restin the dim confines of a snug garage and for many long winters she lay still andsilent. This year we had the good fortune to discover her and now she has beenawakened. She shows some wear but has aged gracefully and can still run the wayshe was built to – smoothly and powerfully. This old girl still roars. Herprime may have passed but she has lost none of her elemental charm. Stored insalem since around 2001, this desirable series 1 e-type has been given a newlease on life and is presented in its authentic, original and entirely rust freestate. It has all the sought-after series 1 attributes -- the triple su carbs,the faired-in headlights, the dash toggle switches. We found it with the engineremoved and in need of a new clutch and once this repair (and a few others) wereperformed, this agile coupe went sprinting happily down the road and is nowready for its next owner. After sorting things out, all systems on this car arefully operable, including electrical. (okay, currently there's no power tothe back-up lights). Aside from installing the new clutch, we replaced the motorand trans mounts, steering rack boots, all cooling hoses, flushed the brake andfuel lines (new tank pick-up and fuel filters), hot-tanked the gas tank andradiator, repaired a few electrical items, and put in a new downpipe where itwas missing at the exhaust manifold. With only 59,500 miles accumulated, therorty 265 h.

This isa number’s matching car with the exception of the head, which we believe wasreplaced by jaguar early in its life. The chrome wire wheels and michelin redline tires really set the car off. This is a tri-carb, covered headlight trueseries 1 jaguar. The chrome is in great shape too. We have all the service receipts. The owner is areluctant seller as he no longer is able to drive the car. The original toolroll and jack come with the car as does a correct owner’s manual. This is agreat car at a great price.
